Welcome to Wolverhampton

Wolverhampton was founded in 985 AD and is located in the West Midlands Region of England. This is far from a congested area. You’re more likely to find wide open spaces, a flowing stream and friendly people than hectic crowds and too much concrete. While Wolverhampton is a great place to live, it’s also a great place to visit. We will briefly cover the best attractions and dining options in Wolverhampton. That way, you will know exactly where to visit and dine prior to your visit.

Wightwick Manor and Gardens is the most popular attraction in Wolverhampton. This is a Victorian house that was built during the Arts & Crafts movement. It’s one of the few structures from that movement that remains today, which is one of the reasons it’s so special. If you’re not familiar with the history of the Arts & Crafts movement, Wightwick Manor was constructed in the 19th Century. It was built by a man named Theodore Mander. The best part about Wightwick Manor is the historic aura. The guides are also informative and can be found in every room. The only negative is that you won’t have time to meander in any particular room because the guides are on a schedule and must get to the next group.

The Wolverhampton Art Gallery is a family museum that was also built in the 19th Century. You will find all kinds of art, but the main focus is on paintings and drawings. There is also a small café to enjoy. If you visit the Wolverhampton Art Gallery, just keep in mind that there are a lot of stairs to climb.

West Park offers wide open spaces, gardens and a beautiful lake. It’s perfect for outdoor photography and a romantic setting. Many weddings take place here. Whether you’re the one getting married or watching others get married, it’s a wonderful experience that can make anyone’s day.

Black Country Living Museum is an open-air museum that began in 1978. You will find costumed characters, carnival games, fish and chips as well as a canal.
